The good news is; multidimensional characters keep introducing themselves, with intriguing backstories that could very well lead into books of their own.
The bad news is, I am unable to weave all these great backstories into the MAIN PLOT. So my current obstacle is trying to tie everyone's stories together.
So what does this have to do with a color-fluctuating reptile?
That's how I feel about this story, which will probably be my creative chew toy for many years to come. It keeps CHANGING! That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I can't get a handle on the plot. Just when I think I know where' I'm going, a new character prances onto the stage and I have to figure out where he or she fits in!
I also have to be careful not to overpopulate my story because readers can get confused when there are too many characters to keep track of.
But I'm not giving up! This will be great novel once everything gets figured out--I promise! :)
