Oh, the Muses work in mysterious ways!
A few years ago I developed osteoarthritis in both knees (will eventually need them replaced but hopefully not for a long time yet--I'm only 52!). Needless to say, I avoid kneeling or getting down on the floor because it can be so painful.
As it turns out, my octogenarian character, Agnes Harper, also suffers from painful arthritic knees, as of this morning.
A quirky scene came to me this morning; Eccentric Agnes Harper only does her banking using the drive-through (grand-niece Amy of course has to drive her). Agnes has a particular reason she doesn't enter the bank anymore--
Her painful arthritic knees.
"If I'm in the bank and it gets robbed," she reasons, "the robber will demand I get down on the floor, and since I wouldn't be able to comply, he'd shoot me dead!"
Getting inspiration from painful knees.
Now that's thinking creatively!
