For instance, this morning I added a scene that explains the attraction between Grace's older sister Alice and Absalom Hart, who is eight years older than Alice. That was a fun scene to write, and as I concentrate on the chemistry between the Hampton sisters and the --ahem--men in their lives, I'm thinking the subtitle for Raid on Cochecho might be "The love lives of the Hampton sisters!" lol.
Grace's relationship with Menane starts innocently enough; two nine-year-olds from two very different worlds. They're curious about each other, and after their initial meetings, have left permanent impressions on each other's lives that culminates when they meet again as adults.
And so, darn it, (or maybe not darn it), this third book in The Puritan Chronicles
series will be wandering into romance territory. No, I am not turning it into a knockoff of 50 Shades of Grey (yuck!). I prefer to leave a lot to the reader's imagination when it comes to my romantic scenes. Keepin' it classy!
This morning I had to celebrate writing this latest scene. I also saw my Amazon sales were up 4 books from last week! And I had earned a free drink at Starbucks, so I got a Grande Café Mocha! Lots to celebrate this morning!
So after all this revising and rewriting and developing new scenes, Raid On Cochecho 's current word count is under 30,000, but this third installment of the series promises to be the best one yet!
